Why is the bond energy of nitrogen-nitrogen is lesser than p-p bomd?

Nitrogen have short bond length and moreover each nitrogen atom posses lone pairs. Due to lone pair- lone pair repulsions they tend to break the sigma bonds between nitrogen atom.
While p-p bond are longer than those of nitrogen and don't have lone pair so are stronger than n-n bond
