The rate of breathing in aquatic organisms is much faster than in terrestrial organisms because the amount of dissolved oxygen is fairly lower in water than air and also that aquatic organisms like the fishes obtain oxygen from water present in the dissolved state.

Answer:

The smaller the size of the animal, higher is the metabolic rate and higher the respiratory (breathing) rate. This is because a smaller size means a higher surface area to volume ratio and, therefore, a higher need for oxygen to be supplied to the different tissues. Since fishes are smaller in size they will have a much higher breathing rate. So, the correct option is 'fish'.
