Why is the cell called the structual and functional unit of life?
Answers
Cell is called the structural and functional unit of every living organisms because the structure of any human body is actually the cellular structure of them. Their cells give that structure to their body. It also functions in many fields. Cells are also functional units singe cells are the one which perform highest number of functions in the human body rather than other structures. Cell have several irganelles in it and all those functions can be grouped under cell. Numerous cells are present in every human body. Depending upon the elongation if cell plate and broadness of cell thickness, body structure depends.
Question:-
Why is the cell called the structual and functional unit of life?
Answer:-
The cells are called as structural and functional units of a living body because because the shape and the size of the cell are more or less fixed and their structure depend on the funtion they perform. Body of all the organisms is made up of cells. Some of the basic life processes or functions takes place in every cell to keep the organisms alive such as digestion, respiration, excretion, etc.
Cells combine to form tissues, which further combine to form organs, organs combine to form organic systems, which further combine to form organism.
Cell-> Tissue-> Organ-> Organ system -> ORGANISM.
