Why is the cell called the structural and functional unit of life?

They are the basic functional unit as they are capable to carry out all the metabolic activities or life processes by themselves. They are even called the structural units because they are the smallest part of the living organisms.

because as small bricks make a huge wall same like this many cells make tissues and tissues makes organs and organs makes a organ system. so cells are rhe functional and structural unit of life.
