small,non polar and uncharged molecules can pass through the phospholipid bilayer like glucose for example , well except for water,water is the only dipolar molecule that can pass through the phospholipid bilayer (BY OSMOSIS)
channel proteins also help in facilitated diffusion,amino acid and glucose
this is the cell's way to get the nutrients it needs
