As loss of Hydrogen is oxidation so, the reaction is an oxidation reaction. Similarly, in second step a Oxygen atom is added to form ethanoic acid from ethanal. ... From the above it is clear that, the conversion of ethanol to ethanoic acid is a oxidation reaction .
