Bcz it is a set guide of principle which tells about governing a country as it tells that how a government govern a country and how to form proper decisions as it require to maintain the law all the decisions taken were also checked a/c to constitution.

In present time, a country definitely needs a Constitution as it —

provides a set of basic rules that allow for minimal coordination among the members of a society.

specifies who has the power to make decisions on behalf of the people.

decides how the govt. will be constituted.

sets some limits on what a govt. can impose on its citizens. These are fundamental in the sense that govt. may never trespass them.

enables the govt. to fulfil the aspirations of a society and create conditions for a just society.

is the rule book of a nation, codifying the rule of law.

is a document of people’s faith and aspirations possessing a special legal sanctity and all other laws and customs of a country in order to be legally valid shall conform to the Constitution.

sets out the framework and the principal functions of the three organs of govt., viz., Executive, Legislature and Judiciary.
