Why is the construction of large dams opposed by many people?

because 1. people living in that area have to do shifting.
2. When water is collected , that is the cause of earthquake.
3. The building of large dams , it become difficult for the aquatic fauna to migrate for producing eggs.
4. Damming of river affect the natural flow of water causing Poor sediment flow downward, and excessive sedimentation at the bottom of reservior , resulting in rockier stream beds which become poor habitat for the river's aquatic life.
