Why is the conversion of ethanol into ethanoic acid an oxidation reaction ?

in the reaction ethanol is oxidised to ethonoic
acid by oxidising agents like potassium permanganate and potassium dichromate

since the conversion of ethanol to ethanoic acid involves the addition of oxygen to ethanol , it is an oxidation reaction...may be it helped you.
