Threats. The primary cause of decline of the Southern Corroboree Frog is chytridiomycosis, the disease associated with amphibian chytrid fungus (Batrachochytrium dendrobatidis). This fungus has caused the disappearance of many species around the globe, especially in Central America and eastern Australia
