India is geographically a very vast,, nation, 7th largest in the world. It has a variety of terrain and relief where different types of people live. Nomads living in Rajasthan and Gujarat cannot be found in the Himalayas or South. Similarly, the herders and pastoralists of Himalayas cannot be found in desert or other places. So India is a country of many groups who have their unique lifestyle.
India has people speaking many languages. Some languages are spoken in a region, some are tribal languages whereas the rest are group languages.
India has many religions. There can be conflicts between them. India has many castes, some in minority and some in majority.

So India is democratic to protect the interests of diversity in human beings that is unique to India.
