why is the difference between the durations of day and night hardly felt at Kanyakumari but not so in Kashmir

As you go from North pole to equator,difference between day and night duration goes on becoming less and less .At equator days and nights both become 12 hours approx. Due to axis of rotation of the Earth is slant, to that of the Sun, seasons occurs. Duration reverses with seasons ie. in winter days in north become shorter than 12 hours.
With respect to Equator Kanya kumari is 8 degree North latitude, while Kashmir is 36 degree north latitude. Hence the difference in durations of Days and nights at the two places.
