Reasons for this are as follows -

I) Thiruvananthapuram is located near the equator but Leh is far away from equator .

ii) Days and nights are of almost equal lengths near the equator .So , Thiruvananthapuram hardly experience duration of day and night .

iii) On the other hand Leh experience longer days and shorter nights in summer but shorter days and longer nights in winter .

So , Because of this reason difference between duration of day and night is hardly felt at Thiruvananthapuram but in Leh .
