why is the different between day and night hardly felt at kanyakumari but not so in kashmir

KASHMIR IS FAR AWAY FROM EQUATOR (EQUATOR EXPERIENCES EQUAL DIFFERENCE BETWEEN DAY AND NIGHT)WHILE KANYAKUMARI IS NEAR TO EQUATOR.
