  • Digestion is the process by which food is broken down into simple form so that it can be absorbed or easily taken in our body.
  • Fats, Proteins, Vitamins, Carbohydrates and water are some of the nutrients which are required to be broken down in small parts so that our body can absorb and use them for growth, energy and cell repair. It is the digestive system which helps in attain this goal.
  • Fats are broken into glycerol and fatty acids, Proteins into amino acids and Carbohydrates into simple sugar
  • Once the food is broken into nutrients it the different organs of the digestive system which move them where they are required.
