Why is the dipole moment of trans -2- butene is zero?

In trans 2 butene the metyl groups are opposite to each other.

So the polarity created at each bond is cancelled out.

So the net dipole moment is zero.

This means that there is no dipole dipole interaction in trans 2 butene
