hey there !!

we know that DC source have constant emf and current flows from positive terminal to negative terminal so there are constant flow of ions from anode to cathode and electroplating is done easily .

But in case of AC source current changes it's direction frequently so there are no constant flow of ions therefore electroplating is not possible in case of AC source..
