Answer:

Because it is the only planet in the solar system which supports life.

It is also known as blue planet because it contains a huge quantity of water. 3/4th of the planet is covered by water. When seen from space,he Earth looks like a blue ball due to the huge water bodies.

Answer:

  • The shape of the Earth, a terrestrial planet, is that of an oblate spheroid.
  • The Earth is the only planet with a natural satellite and has a strong magnetic field.
  • Oceans and other bodies of water, which make up 70% of the Earth's surface, cover around three-fourths of it.
  • The abundance of water on the surface of planet Earth is called as "Blue Planet."
  • Since our bodies are primarily constituted of water, we on Earth take liquid water for granted. However, in our solar system, liquid water is a scarce resource.
  • Earth is called unique because it is the only planet in the solar system that hosts life.
