Cutin is a waxy layer . As desert plant does not get more amount water as other plant get . So when they find water they store is in their stem or leaves by which they regulate their function . Thus Cutin is waxy layer it minimize the rate of transpiration that they can loss a less amount of water . And store it in the form of wax or mucous.
