Answer:

This ban will improve the environment because banning the polythene will help in saving animals from eating them, protecting the soil pollution from the polythene, avoiding blocking of severs etc.Polythene bags are most commonly dispersed in the environment and have a very slow rate of decomposition. They are very dangerous to organisms, as they may remain in the digestive system if consumed and cause diseases. Polythene bags remain in the soil,  reduce soil fertility and obstructs water seepage. They clog drains and can cause floods during heavy rains. Therefore, instead of polythene bags, jute bags and paper bags can be used as they are biodegradable and do not cause pollution. This will also help jute and paper industry to flourish and provide employment to lots of people.
