The Great Indian Bustard were estimated in 2011 to survive and the species is critically endangered by hunting and loss of its habitat, which consists of large expanses of dry grassland and scrub.

This is due to excessive hunting of the bird in order to earn money by the hunters. Moreover proper nourishment has not been provided to these type of birds in many regions of India.

The law of killing animals is an offense has not been followed by many serious hunters nowadays. And the climate of country is not so favourable to produce young ones. Thus great indian bustard is endangered. This was seen more in 2011.

Hope it helps!
