Why is the heating element in the kettle placed at the bottom

It so because we give ignition temperature from the bottom .

here is your answer



no matter where it is situated because heating element will eventually boil the kettle. Hot water is less dense than cold water, So hot water rises from hot element to the top of the water giving off heat all the way, so the heating  is uniform.
