                                    Lets start with dimensions :

Three dimensional body

This has length , breadth and height . Eg: cube

Two dimensional body

This only has length , breadth and height = 0 . Eg: square

One dimensional body

This only has length , and breadth , height = 0 . Eg : straight line

Zero dimensional

This has nothing literally no breadth , length and height . Eg : point

Why is the height and length different ?

Height and length can only be compared well if we talk about about three dimensional bodies because they have both distinct lengths and heights.

Imagine a cube :

It has length and height too . They are equal in value but they are not same.

Why different ?

I dont want to elongate . Think of a co - ordinate system .

I think you have learnt about x-axis and y-axis . The x-axis is perpendicular to y-axis .

x-axis indicates length whereas y-axis indicates breadth .

Now lets introduce the expert z-axis

The z-axis indicates height .

Now we can answer :" since the z-axis and x-axis are two different lines height and length must also be different " .

Consequently you will learn that the height and length are perpendicular to each other just like the x-axis and the z-axis

Thus length and height is never same

' For a cube the length is horizontal and height is vertical '.

Hope it helps ^_^
