India Ocean named after our country because:-

1》India has the longest coastline on the Indian Ocean.

2》India has a central location between east and west Asia.

3》India's Southernmost extensive Deccan Peninsular protrudes into India Ocean that makes it significant to international trade done through Indian Ocean.
