Why is the inside of a frogs stomach folded?

I believe the folds you are referring to are called rugae. The reason they need them is because they increase the surface area of the stomach to allow for better nutrient absorption.

Since the body of the frog is small, byfolding the stomach can increase the surface area of the stomach in order to help the frog digest. ... This is because the intestine helps break down food but because a part is missing it won't provide complete breakdown of food.
