why is the ionisation energy of nitrogen greater than oxygen?

Because in nitrogen the outermost shell is having 2p3 configuration which is half filled stable configuration so it is difficult to remove electron from it that is why it's ionsition energy is greater than oxygen in which there is 4 electron in outer p orbital.
