Issue of sustainability is important for development because if natural resources are exhausted, then the process of development will come to a stop. Two examples are
 
1. Water needs to be conserved as without water, life is impossible.
2. Forests need to be conserved in order to control air pollution and because forests provide a variety of resources.

Sustainability is the process of judicious and proper use of resources keeping in mind the needs of future generation and environment as well. It is important for development because it ensures that our future generation would not face the problem of scarcity of resources. Also it did not causes environmental pollution. It ensures that as many as people get the advantage of available resource.
