Independent Judiciary simply means, judiciary free from political interference, and is independent to make its decisions based on Constitution and existing laws and regulations. Judicial independence is very important in a democracy along with free media. It helps to keep the executive and legislature accountable .....
In a democratic government, people vote their representatives.( Legislature) and the ministers come under Executive. Legislature makes the laws, Executive implements the laws, and the role of judiciary is to check over them like whether everyone is following the law or not. If any person including the president violates the law Judiciary has the power to punish them. So Judiciary is very important in a democracy.
