The judiciary is kept independent from the executive and the legislature so that in the matter of its judgements it is not influenced in any manner by these other two pillars of our democracy. Most so as it adjudicates over constitutional matters as much as under civil and criminal law.

Judiciary is an important part of the state with legislation and executive, these three constitute a state and control it. Judiciary in democratic governance plays very important role as it interprets constitution and implements it if there is any problem between legislation and executive.
Judiciary must be independent from legislation and executive to give verdict in any decision according to constitution. Judiciary also mediates between any tension arise between institutions of the country, within states of the country or within centre and any state of it, due to these crucial responsibilities of judiciary it should be independent from legislation and executive.
