Larva stage absent in direct development and why is it present in indirect development because in an indirect development the sexually immatured stage of the larvae had varied requirement of food than its adults.

Here the process involves metamorphosis.

It is present inamphibians and invertebrates.

The larva changes and becomes sexually matured in this process.

This is not possible in a direct development as there metamorphosis is absent.
