Why is the lesson name "last losson"?

The lesson named last lesson because of the following reasons

1. It was their last class and hence last lesson for their own mother tongue.

2.As a part of respect many elderly people ,backbenchers who don't actually attend the class graced their presence to pay tribute to their mother as they will be not getting this in their future again.

3.Likewise the narrator named it as last lesson as the story totally justify it's title
