why is the melting point of diamond very high

Because it is a solid and they have very less inter molecular space and huge inter molecular force which is difficult to break their force.
That's why the melting point of diamond is very high.

so covalent bond are formed.

For breaking of this covalent bond high energy is required.


so it have high melting point.
