Why is the moment of inertia of a sphere not equal to that of a disc

Its why because geometry of disc is different from the geometry of the sphere and moment of inertia depends upon the geometry of the body....

we know moment of inertia depends upon the geometry of the body and the moment of inertia of sphere is not equal to the moment of inertia of a disk.
