Why is the motion of satellite around its planet considered as accelerated motion?along which direction is the acceleration directed?

The uniform motion of a satellite around its planet is considered accelerated because, despite the constant speed, the direction component of the satellite's velocity is changing at every instance. Now, the acceleration is directed towards the centre of the circular path that is followed by the satellite, and is called centripetal acceleration.
