Why is the northern hemisphere called land hemisphere while southern hemispeher is called water hemisphere?

Explanation:Most of the area in southern hemisphere is covered with ocean(mainly Indian and Pacific ocean) Australia is the only land part while in northern hemisphere most of the area is covered by the 5 continents. Lower percentage of area is covered by water (with respect to land). That's why northern hemisphere is called Land hemisphere while southern is called water hemisphere

  • Most portion of Northern hemisphere is occupied by land i.e continent Asia Africa north America Europe  and portion of southern hemisphere is occupied by south America and Australia  but mostly by water  .
