Why is the noun "country"considered a thing but the noun "Argentina"is a place?​

Dear tushar,

coutry is a common noun because it does not refer to a particular place,if use the word country we are not specific,but when we use a noun like Argentina it refers to particular place ,which makes Argentina a proper noun.

Both of them are places one is specific,another one is not.

what I wanna say is that the noun "country" is also a place.it is not considered as a thing.
