why is the number of eggs, laid by frogs at a time, much higher than those laid by a hen​

This is so because frog's eggs are eaten by is predators .hence to increase the chances of survivality of its eggs frog lay a large number of eggs. On the other hand hen's eggs have no such danger to get eaten by predators so hen lays less number of eggs
