Why is the number of trophic levels restricted to four or five in a food chain?

Since, we know that acc. to the 10% energy rule, energy keeps on decreasing at each trophic level i.e., only 10% of the total provided energy is transferred to the next trophic level.

Therefore, large no. of trophic levels are not possible due to lack of energy.
