Young fold mountains these have been formed later than the old fold mountains the Himalayas Alps are examples they have steep slopes deep valleys and sharp pointed snow covered peak. These are lower than young fold mountains and volcanic activities still they are not common.

Answer:

We all know that the fold mountains are formed by the collision of techtonic plates of that particular landmass which gives rise to the fold like structural mountains.

The peaks of these mountains are covered with snow because of the altitude or height of that particular mountain. As we all know that  Temperature decreases when the altitude decreases( the temperature falls at the rate of 6 degree celsius ). The height of the fold mountains are quite high so that is why there peaks are covered with snow. For instance, Mt  Kilimanjaro( situated in Africa) is located near the equator, but its peak is covered with snow.It doesn't matters that a place is located at the equator, the most important is its altitude, as stated earlier.
