hey friend,
actually plasma membrane ( also called cell membrane) is the membrane which binds the fluid inside the cell in a definite shape.
it is a membrane ( a web like coating) which covers the whole cell.
it is also called selectively permeable membrane because it only let the ions or components come inside the cell which are deficient in the cell.
if a cell has lack of a salt and the cell would be put in a mixture of salt and some other components then it would only let that salt come inside the cell.
hope it will help

⏪Plasma membrane also called the cell membrane is called a selectively permeable membrane.

⏪This is because it allows the entry of only a few substances in and out of the cells .

⏪It also prevents the entry of some harmful materials into the cell .

➡This regulation of exit and entry of substances makes cell membrane a selectively permeable membrane.
