Why is the population of desert region so low

Desert areas are so dry that they support only extremely sparse vegetation ,trees are usually absent , no grass is also there to graze the cattle , amount of water present there is very less thats the reason population is very less in desert areas

Due to absence of vegetation, no cultivation, less water Etc.

Due lack of deforestation in that are maked the land as desert... And today what we see in all over country there is lack of deforestation instead of afforestation.. 1 day all area of this country become desert if this is going on.
