Why is the post office referred to as the place of pilgrimage for ali?

the post office is reffered to as a place of pilgrimage for ali beacuse he used to visit the post office religiously , waiting for his daughter's letter . He would visit the post office everyday without fail for the letter , even after the constant nagging by the postmaster.Just as a pilgrim waits relentlessly for his god,in the same way ali waited for his daughter's letter until his last breath.
