prince is called happy prince because when he was alive than he doesn't know what sorrow is but when he was placed at the pillar which was situated at middle of town he was able to see all miseries of the town

THE PRINCE CALLED HAPPY BECAUSE THERE ARE SO MANY JEWELLERS,LIKE RING OF GOLD IN HIS FINGER AND DIAOMON IN HAND ,HE WAS MADE OF PEARLS.BUT IN REALITY PRINCE WAS NOT HAPPY BECAUSE THERE WERE SO MUCH SORROWS AROUND HIM.AND WATCHING THEM PRINCE FEEL VERY SAD FOR PEOLPE THOSE WHO WERE SUFFERING FROM CRITICAL PROBLEMS

The countries call the Prince "The Happy Prince" because he was always happy when he was alive, he didn't know what tears were for he lived in a palace where sorrow was not allowed to enter. However, when he died and was made into a statue he was not happy and tears flowed down his eyes or seeing the Statue of the city. He could see all the misery and ugliness of the city around him.
