why is the procces of fertilization in angiosperms termed as double fertilization.? explain.

In angiosperm because one male gamete fuses with egg cell and formation of zygote
then after formation of synergids....

We know that pollen grain split into two male gametes when they enter a stigma of a flower.

One male gamete fuse with the egg.

Another male gamete fuse with two polar nuclei.(Also called triple fusion)

These two fusions combined is called Double fertilisation.
