Hey Mate!!!!
The process of loss of water in the form of water vapour from the aerial parts of the plants is called transpiration.
The transpiration is called as so bcz if the water is stored in plants then the decomposition may occur.so,to avoid this transpiration is required and therefore it is called as necessary evil
Hope it may help u

The process of transpiration is known as necessary evil becoz -:
1 - When the rate of transpiration is high and soil is deficient in water , an internal water deficit is created in the plants which may affect the metabollic process .
2 - Many xerophytes have to develope structural modification and adaption to check transpiration .
3 - Deciduous trees have to shed their leaves during autumn to check loss of water .
But inspite of the various disadvantages the plants cant avoid transpiration due to their peculiar internal structure particularly those of leaves . Their internal structure although basically mean for gaseous exchange for respiration , etc is such that it cant check the evaporation of water.
Therefor it is called transpiration as necessary evil
