diffsion means fixing of particles
if the particles easily take space between molecules in which they want to diffuse or mix then diffusion is easy and gas particles have more space

the rate of diffusion of gas are much faster than any of the state of matter as there is a lot of intermollecular space which increases tha rate of diffusion.
