The amount of dissolved oxygen in water is fairly low compared to the amount of oxygen in the air. Therefore, rate of breathing in aquatic organisms is much faster than in terrestrial organisms.

Well,we take oxygen present in the air .

But aquatic animals take oxygen dissolved in water.

This is low than oxygen in air.

Hence,the rate of respiraton is more in acquatic organism rather than terristrial animals(organisms)
