Answer:

When we react calcium with water it results in the formation of calcium hydroxide and hydrogen gas.The produced heat in this reaction is very less which is insifficient to burn the produced hydrogen gas.

Ca + 2H2O ----------->Ca(OH)2 + H2

Whereas this is not the case with sodium.Being a high reactive element it reacts with water thus results in the formation of sodium hydroxide and hydrogen gas with large amount of heat.

Na + 2H2O -------------->Na(OH)2 + H2

Thus rexn of calcium with water is less violent than the rexn of sodium with water.

Answer:Calcium is a metal which belongs to group 2 [ Alkaline earth metals] where the reactivity rate with water is less compared to group 1 metals like sodium and potassium which has more reactivity rate

Explanation: Therefore the reaction of calcium with water is less violent than the reaction of sodium with water
