Because it always provides us with something new to learn and also it gives us a lot of information about the particular place the story or the book has been written upon. lastly, who doesn't like adventure, we all do. so, when any thrill or adventure scene or stanza comes our way we get immensely engrossed into it forgetting everything going on in our world, just focussing on the fictious world the story has created.
