Answer:
The immediate cause of the Revolt of 1857 was the introduction of Enfield rifles whose cartidges were said to have greased cover made of beef and pork sparked off the revolt. Poor salary and abuse by the British officers were the major reasons for their resentment
Answer:
The first cause is the soilders were asked to cross rivers in those days crossing river meand means chanching their religion or caste, so they protested.
The second reason and the main reason is that in those days the enfield rifle was released and the cartidage was made of pig and cow fat. They have to chew the caritidage inorder to start. There were many hindu and muslim soliders, cow is like a goddess to hindus and muslims dont like to chew pig as it has something to do with their religion.
So they all started protesting, soon all the soliders started protesting all over india and all of them asked bahadur shah to br their leader.
Unfortunately we lost ehen bahadur shah and his wife were sent to jail and many soliders were killed.
Hope it helps you
